Lisa of Chemistry Couture sent out the fabric for September for the Snip.Sew.Send quilting bee. There were 8 different fabrics and the requirements were to make a 10.5 inch square block using all of the fabrics and with a star incorporated in any way you wanted.
Lisa sent plenty of fabric, so I ended up making two blocks. I made the spiderweb block on the right first and hoped that the white looked enough like a star. Then, just for fun, I made the one on the left. It is basically a wonky star that I tilted a little before I cut it to 10.5 inches. It was another fun month to experiment!

I really like how your did the wonky ones and I agree that the spiderweb block looks like a star if there’s only one. I’m planning a few wonky stars myself, so I think they’ll go well together

Those blocks are fantastic! I like them both, too. They are so different, but work together well. I think I like the wonky star best. It’s really interesting and very unique. Great job! =]

I love the spiderweb block– but both are just gorgeous! The wonky star is a really neat idea… I may have to borrow that one.

I can’t believe I just saw these – I LOVE them! Turquoise and red are “my colors” right now and I love the block designs you made, especially the one on the right.
